Ginger has been an inseparable part of human lives owing to its aroma, flavor and medicinal attributes which have been utilized to serve a wide range of purposes like lending flavor to food and curing many ailments. Loaded with health benefits of pudina (mint leaves)…this JalGinger recipe…is a cold snap solution in summers when the temperature is soaring high .
Ginger extract 3 table spoon
Lemon juice (2 lemons)
Sugar syrup (made of 1/4 cup sugar &1/4 cup water)
Pudina (mint leaves)paste (15-20 leaves)
Salt 1/4 tea spoon(tsp)
Rock salt 1/4 tsp
Chat masala 1/4 tsp
Bhuna jeera (roasted cumin seeds) powder 1/4 tsp
Ice & Water
Peel a 3 inch long ginger…chop it into small pieces and churn it into fine paste…Put the paste into a muslin cloth…and press to extract juice out of it.
Extract lemon juice using a lemon squeezer and keep aside.
To make sugar syrup…take some sugar(1/4cup) in a pan …Add water (1/4 cup)to the pan….allow it to boil for 5 minutes…Cool the mixture.
Take some pudina leaves(15-20leaves)……add a teaspoon water to it…grind it into fine paste
Now mix ginger extract, lemon juice, pudina paste and sugar syrup.
Add salt,rock salt,bhuna jeera powder(roasted cumin seeds powder)& chat masala.
Dilute the syrup with required amount of ice & water.
The refreshing JalGinger drink is ready…Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon rings..Serve chilled.
